Being that I’m an 80’s baby, listening to Rock Bands was a major part of my childhood. While I was fighting to get my Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, and Mariah Carey CD’s played in the car, I was overruled by my parent’s KISS, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard and AC/DC music on a daily basis. They even took me to a few concerts, so naturally, I grew to love this music and memorize every lyric.
Before I was even born, my dad played guitar in a band of his own called “Sin City” based out of my hometown in Illinois. His rock star alias was “Drew Bludd,” with his red leather Fredrick’s of Hollywood pants and one hell of a sweet mullet.
My brother followed in our dad’s footsteps, playing guitar in a band of his own based out of Orlando, Florida called “Common Yet Forbidden.” My brother didn’t have a mullet like our dad, but he did have long, black hair that came in handy while head-banging and guitar flipping on stage (Click here to see). Pretty Epic!
Coincidentally, one of the most prominent trends this year, Rock Band T-Shirts, has made an epic come back. They predominantly feature 80’s hairbands and various forms of distressed details such as bleach spots, holes and fraying. Some are even worn ripped down the middle, but all can be part of your daily wardrobe…So you can imagine my dad’s and brother’s excitement when I mentioned that Rock Band Shirts were making a comeback! Along with featuring the hottest 80’s bands, it was only right that I paid tribute to my dad’s band “Sin City” and “Drew Bludd” by creating and customizing some sweet shirts of my own to rock. Rock Band Shirts aren’t just for adults, even babies and toddlers can join in on the fun. Here’s my nephew rocking an AC/DC onesie of his own, killing any other baby’s swag.
